Superior Position
Superior position in movies make them very entertaining. The main genre that uses superior position is horror. They are built off of superior position and it is what makes them very entertaining. There is also superior position in real life. An example of it in real life can be secrets. One person knows something and others don't.
Undeserved Misfortune
Movies really need undeserved misfortune as the viewers need to feel for a character. Undeserved misfortune must happen for the audience to really connect with the characters. Undeserved misfortune happens in real life a lot as well. An example of that in real life is the situation going on in many poor countries. Children, innocent children, are starving in other countries and they really don't deserve it. They have a right to a great life and they don't have the same opportunities as others. Undeserved misfortune can be key in an idea for a film. An innocent character can be hit with a tragedy of paralysis and can suffer their whole life with it. They really don't deserve it but it happens to them.
Conflict
As I have learned, conflict is ALWAYS needed in films. If there is no conflict, the movie will be very boring. Conflict is what tends to build up the movie to its final resolution, satisfying the viewers. If it weren't for conflict, films wouldn't be films. Conflict really is in everyone's real life. Everybody has conflict in their life, even if it's not very serious. There is conflict everyday really. Whether it is internal or external from you getting in a fight to you thinking how you're going to solve a personal issue. While we may not like it, conflict is in our everyday life. An idea I have gotten for conflict in a film is possibly tragedy. Death is always an issue and it also affects us in real life. This allows for a film to really connect to real life.

My Film Job
I would love to be an actor in any movie. I know I can play any role needed and I've always loved playing roles. I have always been great at remembering lines from simply watching movies. I sometimes even say them randomly when the lines are in my head. I've always been interested in the movie and film business and of all the jobs in them, the acting seems like the most fun for me. I know I can do a great job in acting and I hope I can be an actor, at least in the films we are going to make in class. I feel I can do this job significantly better than any other and I feel I can excel at it. I've acted in a video before with one of my friends last year and it was very fun.

My Review of The Elephant Man
I really liked this movie. It was very emotional and heartwarming. I really did get a feel for this movie and it had my attention the whole time. It was a great movie which I really liked and it is now one of my favorites. Not every movie has a happy ending and this one did not. It was a truly tragic ending but it really fit well into the movie. The movie really got to me emotionally. I felt anger and also felt a lot of pity. This movie really showed me that the monsters are inside of us and that our appearance has nothing to do with whether you're a monster or not. This movie has made me see the world a little different for now I know who the real "freaks" are. They're not the ones who look different than us, they're the ones who get a kick out of watching the misery of others. This movie has really changed my views of the world and has really affected me significantly.

My Name is John Merrick
My day couldn't get off to a better start. I woke up and began to work on my Cathedral project. It was coming out so great. I could only imagine what the rest of it looked like. While working on it Dr. Treves and Mothershead came in to give me the best news of my life: that I was allowed to stay in the hospital permanently They gave me a dressing case and I was absolutely ecstatic. I had never felt better in my life. What I thought was the best day of my life ended up being one of the worst by the end of it. The Night Porter, like usual, came with a group of people to my room. Oh it was so horrible. I felt so defenseless like always and they were tossing me around like a stuffed doll. It was the worst night of my life. If it had ended there it would've been fine, except that Mr. Bytes came by and took me with him. I could stand the humiliation of the Night Porter but I couldn't stand the abuse that Mr. Bytes gives me. I felt so violated and I never want togo through that night again.

Welcome to My Nightmare...MUAHHAHAHAHA
I once had a nightmare that included my grandfather. What was odd about this nightmare was that I had the nightmare twice. They were spaced out by maybe a month, but they were exactly the same. In the nightmare, I am in an abandoned hotel. I have honestly never seen this hotel before but I was in it. I was walking around in it, terrified for I was alone, until I saw my grandfather in it. I thought he would make it better, and in a way he did, for I wasn't alone anymore. What happened after was what really horrified me the most. There was a killer in my dream and he went chasing after us. He walked very slowly and I wasn't able to see his face, only his feet walking towards us. In my dream I never did see his face and that is what I think freaked me out the most. Well, he was chasing us and then it turned out to only being me. My grandfather had left my dream and I was alone. I trip and right before he throws the slash I wake up. I woke up at exactly the same time both times I had the nightmare. It is one that I will surely never forget.

Compassionate Science
A compassionate scientist will always have to think of everyone's needs. What could help some may harm others. Scientists should be able to know who they are helping and also who could potentially be impacted negatively. The main thing they need is heart. They want to help others and that is very selfless. Putting others before you takes heart and a compassionate scientist must have it. I want to be an astronautical engineer. I don't think this career will impact individuals with disabilities like Ebeling was able to do. We are so driven on technology and it's great that now we are able to help people with a numerous amount of things. Science is both good and bad, depending on how we, humanity, use it.

The Future
The future! Some think it'll be a paradise with technology so advanced you won't have to do anything anymore. That the world will be a better place and technology takes over. I don't believe that we will get a chance to see technology advance too much. I feel that the future will be horrid, as I believe that most of the world will be a wasteland. There is so much violence in this world and there is too much tension. I feel it will eventually be a nuclear war between two powerhouse countries. We were on the verge of one not too long ago. I go back to the Cuban Missile Crisis. The United States and Russia were on the verge of going to nuclear war. What is to say this kind of situation won't happen again. There is so much tension between countries and I feel we will ultimately feel the effects of it. If war could be avoided forever, then the Earth will eventually turn into a Utopia, but this isn't going to happen. If there was to be another world war, there is much fear that it isn't going to be long. With more nukes now than ever, the war will be even more deadlier. Once a major war starts, I fear the Earth will completely fall apart. People will lose hope and the world as we know it would be lost forever. This I feel can happen at any moment. Whether it's in a hundred years, in ten years, or even if it's tomorrow, it will come eventually and this life will be forever lost.

One Time I Laughed Really, Really Hard
The one time that I nearly died of laughter was last year in my sixth period class. It wasn't just one thing that happened that day, but it was two. First, my friend and I were working together on a worksheet. We were having difficulty agreeing on the answers and due to that we were getting a little frustrated. Well, my friend finally got up and smashed his hands on his desk as he was going to tell me something on the answer, playing around. His desk only had three legs and he, as well as the table, went down. He was ok, which is what made this so hilarious. Once we checked he was ok we couldn't stop laughing. I remember we both turned red and it was really a very funny time. We couldn't stop for a full five minutes. That same day, a little while later he told me the funniest joke. I was telling him about how my mom had grounded me and that I had not listened to her. He then said that I should ground her. Then he elaborated and made the motion of me picking up my mom, and throwing her on the ground. He meant it literally, that I should "ground" her. He made the motion in which I pick her up and pile drive her to the ground screaming "You're grounded!"

Modern Times Review
Modern Times was a very entertaining film. Charlie Chaplin had everything to do with that. The film was funny and it was very connectable to many people at the time. It was during the Great Depression, or around that time, and he would really relate to it. He did mention how there wasn't much work and people had to steal to be able to eat. People steal food mainly for they are hungry and they just don't have the money. The main reason I really liked this film, though, was because of the comedy. It was a very funny film from machines that feed people to him singing in nonsense French. Overall the film had joy and sadness, and was entertaining with both. The audience can relate to it in so many different ways. This was really a great all around film, which is why it is very much worth watching more than once.

My Thoughts on Bullying
I, myself, have been bullied. Never physically but I have been bullied in other forms. I was called names and it really made me feel horrible. It was really only a few times that it would happen, and it was mainly in middle school. Bullying did affect me at the time, but over time I learned to ignore it. This really helped for the person stopped seeing the fun and simply stopped. It took me a while, though, to figure it out but now I am a better person and I now know how to deal with these kind of people. It actually made me a better person and I learned from this. I understand that the bullying wasn't physical, but it all hurts the same. But these experiences really made me into the person I am and the person which I am very much proud of. These bullies, I feel, went after me because they knew I wouldn't fight back. I'm not that kind of person and they knew it. All I can do from those experiences is move on and I have looked past these experiences. Bullies just want to feel superior and they always seem to go after the weakest and most vulnerable people and they get their joy out of it because they feel big. But they, in reality, are the smallest people of all.

My Favorite Movie
My favorite movie is The Dark Knight. It is my favorite movie of all time because it is such an exciting film. There are so many twists and turns in it and it kept me entertained throughout the whole film. This is one of those films i can watch over and over again. I really liked it as my favorite superhero is Batman and this film is very successful for Batman fans and even non-fans. It has a lot of action and explosion, which I love, and it is very dark as well. But the film is able to lighten it up when needed. Both the protagonist and antagonist are very likable in their own way. On top of that, there's not just one antagonist in this film, but all are very relatable and likable. Another thing that was great was being able to see things from different point of views, including the criminals and police's point of view. The plot is original, even though it was based off of comics. The movie had pretty much everything I look for when I go to watch a movie. The cast was great and did a great job in the film. This nonstop action drama was great in doing what movies are supposed to mainly do, which is entertain.
